QUICKIE: m ss ng p eces

While browsing through the Cool Hunting archives I came across one of the cleverest company names I have seen in a long time.

This description was taken from their website:

m ss ng p eces is a boutique video label that develops original programming. We specialize in producing content for online distribution.

The  i   is the missing piece of m ss ng p eces, or to put it differently:
There is no i in m ss ng p eces. So ingenious…

I am a big fan of word play but they have taken it to another level. You can watch a video they produced about the work they do in their New Revolutionaries clip. They also created Cool Hunting Video and produced many of their clips. The following is a clip about the great Argentinian singer Juana Molina:

JOBHUNT: Lemonade movie trailer

I ran accross this movie trailer for a documentary about people working in the highly demanding creative industry (in this case advertising, but I feel it applies to a lot of other people, including architects) who were suddenly laid off and as the title implies, made lemonade out of the lemons that were given to dealt them so unexpectedly.
Señorita Puri’s original post is very entertaining, you can read it here.

QUICKIE: Stop-motion + post-its = music video

Quickies are links to interesting stuff I find online, sometimes I’ll comment, and sometimes I won’t. This is a music video created with post-it animation, stop motion is very old-school and time intensive technique that for some reason always manages to catch my eye.

Hola Mundo.

It is September 1st, 2009, and once again I find myself with time on my hands. The need to expand my online presence, and to share the bits of information, images, websites, news and quotes that inspire me are the driving force behind this blog.

So here are the rules: Post at least three times a week, I’ll try and make this blog as impersonal as possible, stick to inspiration and innovation, sometimes humor. Once in a while however, I might elaborate on my job-hunting activities which is, after all, the main reason why I have the time to indulge in this new hobby.

All of the writing will be in English, but there might be times when my opinion is untranslatable, and will have to be expressed in my the mother tongue, Spanish.

A little about the author: 25 year old architect living in New York City, trying to land at the intersection of business strategy, design, media, marketing and the internet.

You can learn more about me at LinkedIntwitterflickrdaytum. And while we’re at it, why not have a look at my résumé?

PS. Until I implement a better system (probably WordPress), tumblr+Posterous will have to do.
